First project meeting, Brussels, 17 & 18 April 2018

On 17th and 18th April 2018 the kick-off meeting of the project “A Way Home” took place at the Flemish Ministry for Youth Welfare in Brussels. The objective of the meeting was to set the scene and define why we are doing the project and what we want to reach.  In particular, how to prepare young care leavers for interdependent living and After care policy with  action plans. More specifically the Regions of Flanders and Carinthia, selected pilots for this project, have presented their existing policies and challenges  and FEANTSA  worked to build support and acceptance of the A Way Home model amongst a coalition of local actors. On April 18 the participants were involved in evaluation and quality control of the project and built together a process using the “Appreciative inquiry method”.

“I’m happy the A Way Home project is launched, it was great to feel your enthusiasm and engagement during the Kick off!“

- An Rommel, Flemish Agency for Youth Welfare
